This is what I was shooting for. Cross lit using two flashes on either side of the stairwell.I wanted the background all blacked out and the riders looking like they were shot in a studio.

Here is another one from today. I was trying to blacken out the background, however, my little flashes weren't powerful enough to overpower the sun. I will keep this light setup in my bag of tricks for another day.

Last race of the season today. I decided to do a little experimenting. Hit and miss with the results. I will post a couple of the better pictures over the next couple of days.

I really like how these pictures turned out. Here is the last one. I hope to get out again next weekend for the last race of the year.

BC Provincial Cyclocross Championships

Here is another favorite of mine from last weeks race. I used my 17-55 f2.8 DX lens for this shot. Its extremely sharp. Sharper then my 12-24 f4. I find that my 12-24 has to be stopped down to f5.6 to equal my 17-55 at f2.8.

Here is my second favorite image from the day. The sun shinning through the trees really makes this picture for me. I also like the black branches radiating out from behind the cyclist.

I finally got out this past weekend and took some pictures at the Cyclocross Provincial Championships in the North Vancouver on Sunday. It was slow going at first, but I found a spot and started to get some nice pictures using off camera flash. This is my favorite image from the day.
